You'd be SURPRISED who's juicing. Spend enough time around people who use, and you will gain perspective. There are many different types of "steroid bodies".

I live in California.....home of the vainglorious and the egotistical. People 'use' just to strut around a 24HR Fitness. I've even met people in a certain physical state which I assumed was natural, only to witness their bodies deflate after they come off the drugs. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I've seen people enter the gym 145 lbs. soak & wet, and within a year they have doubled in size (..and claim to be natural). That same 145 lb. individual is now 200-ish lbs. LEAN, on the NPC show circuit and still won't admit that he uses.

You'd be surprised. Around here there are tons of gym bros that do nothing but arms that are juicing. You probably know some people but just don't realize it.

In my years at my university... I've seen people explode in 6months-1year, and see them a same duration later, and not half the size they grew to. Hilarious.

I get out of shape when I stop lifting, but I can get nearly back to my strength/physique in about a month. Natty all the way.

Same here! If I stop lifting for a short time, I become softer. When I lift hard, I get it back. I'd be lying if I said that I never considered doing a cycle (..even if only marginally), but I just couldn't bring myself to terms with it. I had to ask myself:
  1. WHY?
  2. Is it worth potentially tarnishing my career?
  3. Is it worth the potential health issues (..even if the risks are reduced because of modern drugs)?
  4. How sustainable are the gains? Am I going to be wasting my time?
  5. What if I get hooked?
  6. WHY?


At the end of the day, the pros just didn't outweigh the cons for me.

+1, I quit lifting for a couple months then got back into it big and it all came back, thank goodness for muscle memory

I see this used a lot in the wrong way. Muscle memory is about the muscles memorizing movements. Such as a golf swing, jump shot etc.

I'm going to stop lifting heavy this week to prepare my body for my swim championships on the 8th. Right now i'm sore as f&*k and can barely bend over to grab onto the blocks.

What do you guys suggest? Just lift lighter and do the same workouts? Or just do abs, running, push ups and pull ups until champs?

Practice swimming and rest your body as much as possible in my opinion. If you want to be 100% I think any weightlifting will deter that. See if others agree
