are starspecs really that good?

looking at maybe getting an autocross tire this year. i've been running my Bridgestone re760s and i know they're nothing special but they're not awful either. a nice street tire though.
i noticed the new dunlop zII came out and i wondered how they would compare to a michelin pilot super sport.
are the new (or old) star specs really that good? how long with they last if i only run them during autocross?

Star Specs are pretty solid from what I hear but in terms of performance the Michelin Pilot Super Sport is supposed to be the reigning champ right now. Try looking at the Hankook RS3 or Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 as well if you want something that performs really well.

i have super sports and they are awesome highly recommend them for many of the obvious reasons including grip road noise and wet traction

i have super sports as well. they're pretty sweet but there are some people saying the starspecs actually grip better.
i don't really care about road noise or comfort or anything because they will be an autocross only tire

starspec is the best bang for your buck i got 20k miles out of them and 4 track days at thunder hilll

but i have not tried the rs3 personaly
