That's why you have to be careful buying from a dealer. They will change the terms right up until you have possession.

congratulations.. very similar story for me. After dealing with a dozen douchey dealers in the Seattle area, and 200 emails or so, I drove down and picked up my 04 Imola M3 cabrio just two weeks ago! Almost perfect, 41k miles, and a really good price! Enjoy the car, I know I am!!

Congrats raichean! Been loving the car. Such a difference over my 330i and I have the experience from working on an E46. Couldn't believe how hard it was finding a good low milage M3. At least where I live. Sadly it was easier to deal with a dealer rather than selling my car and finding the right M3.
