The age old question, with a twist: Wrapping vs Painting

Hi All: new to these forums, Im a college student but Im working this semester so Ill some money to work on my 325i. I got the car used in april, and I like it but it has some cosmetic issues. Id like to get it re-painted or wrapped. So I have a couple questions:

What color do you think would be best (black, matte black, dark slate(dark gray))?

Should I wrap the vehicle or paint it? Before answering this question check out the pictures below. There are some parts of the body that need repair. The car is pretty dirty in the pictures. Also Im positive that the black coat on the car now is the second coat and the car was not sanded, buffered, or primed before repainting. My thinking is I should repaint it well, sand all the paint off, buff, prime etc. but maybe wrapping is the way to go I dont know.

How much would you expect it to cost? (Trying to ball on a budget but I still want quality work done)

Any recommendations on where to go for car painting wrapping? I could go to milwaukee or chicago.

I don't think wrapping is the answer. I would say paint it, but have it done, and done well. That paint needs a good do-over.

OMFGBBQ. You need to respray your car. A wrapping will not look right in those areas.

Own, borrow or rent a garage stall and prep as much as you can yourself.

Remove ALL chrome, lights, emblems, side moldings, bumpers, etc. etc. to start.
The more pieces you remove means easier, more thorough paint cleaning and prep and fewer obvious tape lines, etc. later... fewer obvious ways to spot a repaint.

You can also do a lot of your own masking... sealing the underhood, trunk and interior spaces, and protecting wheels, tires.

Head to the library and check some books on prepping for paint. It's a LOT of work to do things right... if you want to do it right, that is. And, you can do it more 'right' than anyone you may pay... unless you pay A LOT.

Flatbed it from your garage to the painter's on a sunny day. Let them keep it for two weeks. Then back to your garage and reassemble it.

Keep your painter happy! Some get into their zone with a few quality beers
