Not a chance. I've had people tried to rob me before in NY. Didn't end well for them.

But yeah, don't ever let a stranger get their hands on any of your property. Ever. Don't give out money, don't do anything. No good deed goes unpunished. I'm a cop, this is the truth. I have gone out of my way to help people and had complaints filed against me, been spit on and assaulted. My partner went out of his way to help a lady, and she started stalking him and then filed a complaint against him for misconduct after he reported the issue to our command and they called her on it.
90% of the senior citizens that get conned out of money in scams were just trying to help someone or what they thought was some charity or some sweepstakes money that they would have given to their grandchildren. No joke.
I have stories galore that have convinced me to never help someone out in public ever. If I want to help someone, I go through a charity or established organization that I SEEK OUT, not the opposite. People show up at my door looking for money or information, I give them a countdown to get off my property.

words of wisdom

as of late, humanity has been deteriorating so fast on the inside, the only reason we dont see it is because everyone is too busy posting the "amazingness" of their lives on instagram. this is probably the saddest generation

every generation has been the saddest generation according to the previous one because they do things differently.

it's just a sign of the times. Get over and deal with it...It's much easier to do so once you realize how disappointing you are compared to your father's time and how his time was disappointing compared to his father's time..........Circle of life

When I lived in AZ we had a lot of bums that would pull sketchy sh!t like this on one particular corner. You'd walk by at night and they'd ask you for the time trying to bait you to pull your phone out so they could grab it.

OP lucked out in this one, words worked, but thats not always the case. Keep your ears up and eyes open.

Very true. IIRC every generation since the 1950s has thought the future was bleaker for their children, than for them.

Dunno how to find that article so I'm not going to try. Maybe someone can help me out.

So where's the logic behind what you're trying to back up ? You would probably have had your phone taken away and make a thread about in OT, crying.

Yes. You're so right. I'd come running to OT weeping.

Maybe in Jesus time, it was a good deed. But not in today's time. You look out for yourself and family first.
