Are sport struts compatible with all years/models?

So I'm the seller here and I feel quite badly as I don't want to rip anyone off and I'm going to take them back if they don't fit. At the same time,if someone knows the deal here any context is greatly appreciated.

Again, I bought these off CL about six months ago from a guy with an 04 330i, I literally saw the car he told me they came from. While anyone can be shady, based on his manner and the price I paid I don't think that he was intentionally ripping me off or misrepresenting himself either, he was a tech worker with a very nicely modded car well spoken not pushy if anything he may have been about to get more for them.

I should have cross referenced parts but took him at face value as I had no reason not to. I never installed myself as I found a set of M3 parts and opted for those instead, eventually themselves replaced with Bilsteins.

If anyone has an idea of where the cross up was here I'd truly appreciate it; if parts are good even if not right for OP I'd rather see them go to someone who can use them vs go to waste.
