My Ride: '12 F30 328i Sport
BMW CCA San Diego Chapter HPDE @ Chuckwalla

Hi Folks,

I know some members here think the F30 is not a track capable car...well, here are some videos I shot during the recent BMW CCA San Diego Chapter Driver's School at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway. The in-car camera is in a 2012 328i Sportline, all stock (except for an Afe scorcher), 6-speed with DHP. The light blue car is also a 328i sportline, same equipment, also all stock (no tune but M Performance Brakes). There were at least two other F30's on track that weekend, but I don't have good video of them. One was the pace car for the BMW CCA Club Race that weekend so it had r-compound tires and a light bar on top.

Please note - the cars with blinking hazard lights are being driven by instructors (myself included). The cars without hazards going were in the A+ advanced student group.

From what I could tell, the F30's all ran flawlessly despite the 90-95F conditions. Even the marginal stock 328i brakes worked just fine. Oh and the electric steering has plenty of feel and great feedback (so says everybody who drove F30's on the track that weekend). The conditions were so brutal that even typically bulletproof cars (eg e46 M3's) were having mechanical issues. Not the F30's! Heck the temperature never went above normal. Oh and I completely forgot about my slightly corroded seat bases...

Sorry for the poor audio quality but I hope you enjoy this 11 minute video clip.
