Jack Olsen is on the garagejournal, and no the tile doesn't come off to acces the center. Those lifts have a solid pan, but you can buy the ones that just have runners.

Yeah, that green-cabineted one with the Porsche is serious garage p0rn.
With Minnesota winters, I don't think I could do anything like that. I've got slush and ice and so much crap in my garage that I can only dream about something so nice.

Thanks, guys. I'm the guy who built the green garage.
The lift wouldn't make sense for most cars. But I got it for my 911, which has a flat belly pan where it contacts the lift. All of the engine, transaxle and exhaust is accessible when it's up there. ![]() I have used it for my other cars, with blocks at the lifting points. If I did a lot of work on them, I would have gotten a more conventional lift. (But this one was a deal I couldn't pass up at $455, second-hand.) You can see the lift in operation in a short video that came out two weeks ago. ![]() Link. Last edited by Jack Olsen; 02-07-2013 at 04:44 PM. |

This is awesome. What was the cost of that lift? I want to add this to mine! |

We have a garage in our house, but it is only used for parking cars. All the work is done in this pole barn behind our house. I keep saying our because it is my parent's barn and I still live at home. (I'm not a deadbeat, I'm in high school still!) The barn is full of tools and shop equipment, but can be easily converted into a party space complete with surround sound, a movie screen (the white thing on the back wall) disco lights, full kitchen, pool, air hockey, ping-pong, foosball, etc. It's a great multipurpose area. That is my E46 on the left and my dad's Honda S2000 on the right.

here's mine - a total mess from my previous OFHG, cooling system overhaul, FRP (fluid replacement program),... Gonna clean it and get ready for my next activity - CCV and plastic replacement program (intake tubes, ICV bellow,...)
Notice the device on the left - its a double-barrel keg machine. Currently stocked with Yeungling and Magic Hat #9. True story: the Magic Hat tap handle is a hockey puck. Its the the one that broke my wifes nose in 2005 at a Caroline Hurricanes game. She still wont touch that thing. My bar is always open, will come in handy during my CCV replacement.

I like how in the pic of "checking the air pressure" the air hose is passing THROUGH the wheel and popping out the other side...
kind of weird - but I am intrigued to see more (I know you young guys will not)...

Finally got around to cleaning it. Back to normal. Also showing off my favorite tool in the garage - a "double-barrel".
