Oil Leak - Please help
2001 325xi Manual tranny with 180k
I noticed a pretty good amount of oil under the car tonight. Looks like it is coming from the lower forward passengers side. I am really hoping someone has an idea and this doesn't end up costing me big time. |

Valve cover gasket, best way to verify is to look at the flange on the passenger side of the engine that covers the exhaust manifold for oil residue. Easy to replace. Do your VANOS seals while you're in there.

On this limited info I would agree on valve cover gasket. Check out this thread though to see if anything matches what you actually see. Its important to see where leaks are coming from directly, otherwise you fix stuff that isn't broken (I replaced my valve cover gasket only to find that wasn't the problem b/c I didn't do enough poking around).
