Force Induction cams
So this week I'm tackling a Cam install using the FAQ from jared_wiesner and G.A.S tool. I was wondering after installing these supercharge cams 248/268 can I drive the car without having the supercharge installed yet. It's my daily driver. I'm already tired of my mom's CR-V ha

The only other thing is to beach the car and have the setup fully installed before I drive it, but I'm hoping It would run with those supercharge cams alone for now.

no reason to be scared at all as long as your valve train is meant to deal with your new cams you will be fine. As some of the others have mentioned you might lose some power being NA as the cams were designed for an FI engine. None the less drive your car until you can install/purchase your supercharger

It'll run. I had my FI cams installed before I installed my supercharger and ran the car. Granted, I only drove it from the shop that did the cam install to my shop where I installed the supercharger, about 10 miles. But it'll run.

i just finish the install today. everything looked like the pictures and I started up the
car. I had no problems though ide was a bit rough it was smooth and consistent. after 3 mins of idle the car began to shake. Is it a tuning issue? i don't see any black smoke or any issues until it finish warming up and the RPM drops. I'm hoping this is a software issue at this moment. |
