Now, as the AWD is a new World for me, this bustard is lifting off its head @ 60-80 miles under hard acceleration.

We are working on suspension settings to minimize head lift. Got some tricks and will be testing them.

OOps head lift is not cylinder head lift, the two front tires are lifting off the ground. They dont lift off 100 % but you can feel the steering Wheel getting emptier under hard acceleration. During road test an Audi driver asked me what kind of a system I installed to lift the head off He must have liked it

Meanwhile, I am setting launch control in order to launch.

I did not want to risk oem front drive shafts, installed DSS front drive shafts.

DSS front driveshafts are normally direct bolt on, in my case we do machine them to fit into the Limited Slip Differential. Getting the CNC job done takes half a day, they needed to fix the long drive shaft and had to source out adapters etc...

Finally, DSS front drive shafts and front Limted Slip Differential are working well.

LSD settings is another subject, will be playing around ramp angle of the LSD.

Launch control settings are dangerous as too much ignition cut will melt the pistons. Requires careful settings...
Very innovative ... Nice job

Re: All Wheel Drive E46 M3

Steering goes light under hard acceleration.. That's scary considering your launch mode isn't set up. Think you'll eat drive shafts?

I am not sure if XM3 can survive on a top speed event. It needs to be tested and I do not have the brave heart to see 300 + km/h speeds nor will I risk my assistant. I find those speeds simply lethal

Last weekend there was Greek Unlimited and many cars suffered.....

http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/9...r-16-17-a.html

UGR Gallardo caught on fire. GTRs broke down. 300 + speeds are overwhelming for 1000 + whp cars, at least as of today.

Once the front suspension travel exceed X milimeters, AWD is turned OFF. This is to save front axles from "unloading" under head lift.

DSS chromoly front axles / DSS chromoly rear axles.

Front propeller shaft and rear propeller shafts are custom made in Turkey.

I tested carbon propeller shafts on RWD M3, two times and both were damaged.
I would not test any carbon shafts / axles as carbon is prone to damage very easily.

Been workin on E36 M3 Euro Twin Turbo for the last 7 months. Wanted to benefit from warm weather / warm tarmac. RWD M3 is in good direction, will open a thread about in the coming days.

Weather got colder and time to work on XM3.

XM3 passed the first hardcore road testing @ 30 psi. Thank you GOD.

Before we road tested, went over every single detail.

XM3 has 12 x 2226 cc injectors. 6 of the 2226 cc injectors serve as primaries.

Custom camshafts and idle is @ 1000 rpm.

ROAD TEST:

To be honest I could not drive for the first 20 minutes I was excited

First high boost road test was at late evening on a poor road surface with cold tires, traction control OFF / 22 psi.

XM3 acts different compared to a RWD M3. The head of the XM3 tries to pull the car but if the slope of the road is to either side you end up going all 4 wheels into that side of the road. So the tail does not let go, rather all 4 tires go into one direction.

Next day, warmed the tires, traction control OFF, found a good road surface, full throttle @ 30 psi and XM3 pulls like whatever you name it. It keeps on pulling and pulling and pulling. I may use the Word as if it was on rails.

At that very moment I prayed GOD for allowing such a Project, all the tear and blood paid themselves. Thank you very much LORD.

Turned off all Wheel drive via Pectel, and XM3 jumped to the next lane....scaryyy
It becomes a RWD "genuine M3" when we turn OFF AWD.

The AWD System functiones well as I desinged it. No leaks, no damage.

During the 3 month winter time we will be working on details such as:

I will be re-wiring the harness with high spec materials from scratch. Since day 1, which is 2008, I ve added different sensors and the harness is not good anymore. Want to build the harness from scratch with mil spec components.
Will be making a thread about building S54 wiring harness.

A full roll cage from A pillar to C pillar is on the list as well.

Changing ramp rates of front and rear LSDs...

Setting Launch Control.....

Replacing each bolt and screw of the drive train with ARP bolts and screws.

Closed loop lambda control to improve fuel consumption.

Mapping and working till late night...

Ear phones, listening to knock. People think that I listen to music on road, if only they knew I am mapping....

2226 cc Siemens injectors

XM3 hooks as good as my 997 TT does.

My passion for M3s keeps on growing.
