51,5 mm Dinan ITBs on their way to XM3 TT.




A Mustang AWD dyno has recently started to work in Istanbul. Will test 51.5 mm ITBs vs. 50 mm stock ITBs on Mustang Dyno @ 15 psi.
Power band of both setups should be compared.

Did Dinan revise their s54 ITBs? I had a set of their throttle bodies and they were 51.0 mm ID.

The VAC variants are a full 52.0mm on the other hand

XM3 TT signed in for drag racing.

4th of may 1/8 mile
24th of may 1/4 mile
22nd of june 1/4 mile
10 th of august 1/4 mile

XM3 TT is under major surgery:

new dual fuel system, fabricated 12 x 212 LB Injectors on methanol
new fuel lines, fittings, regulator, pumps....
new turbochargers
new turbo oil lines
new air filters
new AWD control unit, more precise settings

ICD installed still testing (dash and logger)
new pads, rotors
chasis reinforcements, if this Works out, I ll go into details, any E46 will benefit from my new chasis reinforcements.

6 speed auto transmission with OEM BMW shifter....
drivetrain studs and bolts replaced with heavy duty studs and bolts
coil over springs replaced for drag racing

4th of may

Its been rainy here, 2 of the drag events have been cancelled in the last 15 days.



Broke my foot, serious imflammation, 6 weeeks to get better... With broken foot and imflammation worked on XM3.














weight: 3592 with full interior, CD Player, electric heated seat, full tank of fuel 3592 LBS. Its a fat boy, needs to go on diet. I plan on loosing 300 lbs in winter when it will snow.








Except the engine almost entire XM3 has been modified / changed. Only the engine and chasis are untouched, still 12,5:1 compression

new 6 speed auto transmission
new transcooler
electric fan
custom front LSD
custom rear LSD
changes in software & add on sensors & ICD dash
added Autosport connectors
230 AMP custom alternator
new fuel pumps
new injectors x 12
new fuel regülator x 2
new fuel lines
new fuel rails x 2
new turbocharger x 2
new crank vent system
new turbo scavenge system
all necessary bolts and studs replaced by arp bolts and studs
rolling anti lag dialled in
E46 330 automatic shifter installation, calibration
new brakes
new wheels
new tires
many items I forgot to add and each item took time to install, fabricate, test.

Put on Dyno Dynamics to set rolling anti lag, 580 whp @ 15 psi @ 6000 rpm. Thats like 670 whp on dyno jet, but only at 15 psi and 6000 rpm.
Road tests @ 40 psi / 9000 rpm will put out more power

To summarize, XM3 is ready for road and track tests, waiting for rain to go and sun to come Cannot drive with broken foot but will map.

Passion continues at peak levels, divided my team into two groups and we ve been working two shifts for the last 5 months. 18 hours Daily, including saturdays.


Edit (add on)

ALmost all of the studs and bolts and nuts were removed off XM3.
Labelled.
Sent to USA ARP.
Received stronger botls and nuts.
This process took 2 weeks, as I am overseas and ship DHL. Just shipping is 2 days back and 2 days forth.
At the end of the day, bolts and nuts are stronger

This M3 has loads of traction, I can say it does hook, thats why almost all bolts and nuts of drivetrain have been replaced, to prevent bolts breaking.

Adam, I hope this expensive box will prevent possible failures which may cost more than this box.

As the grip of XM3 increased tremendously compared to the RWD M3, drivetrain is under stress.

Thank you. I go to dyno just to make sure engine revs happily 6000 rpm, boost is built, there is no oil or fuel leak. Dyno is just a tool for me to check overall condition of the vehicle. Once the vehicle passes those tests, I take it to road & (track) for mapping and 60-130 measuring.

Real road conditions, traction, load in each gear, front tires friction which dont exist on dyno, wind resistance, cooling, all are "real" on road and not real on dyno.

What does it mean if my M3 makes xxxx whp, 4 digit whp, but cannot put that power on road

5 years ago I was dyno addict, have been trying to get the max out of S54.

Until the day I put E46 M3 Coupe on road where I faced traction problems.
