Unlock the glove box then see if that works to open the trunk with the remote.

Yes, it's tied to the position of the glove box lock. Having said that mine gets temperamental sometimes and refuses to open.

Trunk Lock

Even though my glove box was "unlocked" the trunk wouldn't open, this morning I "opened" the glove box door manualy. Tried the trunk and what do you know all seems well....Thanks

My Ride: 2003 330ci vert
Hey so I have a pretty big issue.. I wanted to replace the battery tray in the trunk of my 330ci vert and the trunk was the only thing that open with the key. Now the key won't open the trunk. Do I have to get a locksmith or can I find a way to open the trunk and do the repairs myself? Any help is appreciated

Haven't heard of that before. I'd try playing with the glove box key position and then trying to open the trunk at the same time. I replaced the battery in the trunk without issues.
