Battery helpppp

Hello,
So I have a problem with my battery I think and would like a opinion. My car will not start it just kinda clicks and does not even turn over. I recharge the battery and it works then the next day it's drained again. The only thing I would think it would be is the LED license plate bulbs I installed. Before I take them out is there anything you guys think it could be? And would I just need a new battery?

How old is the current battery? Sounds like you just need a new one.

while you get a new battery, also buy a multimeter if you don't have one.
Plug in the battery, start the car, and check the voltage at the battery terminals. You should see at least 14v.
Why you need a new battery you may ask? Once a battery is drained, it's very likely that one of the plates are damaged and will not hold a charge for long.

My current battery is very old. I just kinda wanted to make sure before I replaced it. It just kinda started doing this out of no where. My license wa suspended 2 months ago and I have been starting it everyday and randomly one day it just was dead and i recharged it and it died once again and now rounding up to the day I get my license back (5days) it's dead.... So you guys think just a new battery?

This. E46 (or maybe newer bmws in general) are weird with their batteries. They will just die out of nowhere with no slow starting or warning signs. And they will not properly recharge enough to make them usable again.
You for sure need a new one.

these cars...

The electrical system is continually drawing energy from the battery to keep the systems awake and aware. Even while parked, the systems use the battery.
The only way to prevent any drain is to disconnect the battery, obviously impractical, unless storing the car.
An older battery will only 'feed' the systems for so long before giving up.

Important that all components from the alternator and belts, voltage regulator, clean connections and battery terminals... be in great condition. Even a newer battery will get drained after just a very few weeks of no-running in storage.

Some sound-system mods have been known to mysteriously draw additional energy even while switched off...

May not want to use a 'charger' , but rather, a battery tender / maintainer while in your garage to keep your new battery happy.

For a battery? If you have the money get a bmw one. Mine lasted like 8 years.
If not (and I completely understand not wanting to spend like $300 on a battery) get an auto zone one. One with a long warranty. Should be around a 5 year warranty for the top brand. Expect to pay anywhere from $100-$200

For a multimeter, just buy a $10 one at Walmart or wherever.

Use discount code A124 at AdvanceAutoParts.com . Net cost for GOLD battery will be close to $100 for 3year/84 month battery.

That is great! Kirkland batteries are good. I think they are 100 month batteries. Been to my Costco multiple times and they never show a battery for the BMW. I will have to look again.
