Great line, Max.
But that begs the question...
Wouldn't that only mean that I'm more qualified to judge them than the other way around?

People of all socioeconomic levels fall into the "thug trap". Just look at Tommy Hilfiger's son who obviously has taken that bait. I have many black colleagues who speak far more eloquently than whites, asians, or Latinos. It's all about choice.

I suppose if you're of the mind that because you have a better education that you're 'better,' and thus better qualified to judge. Personally, I judge people by what they do, not what they say or how they say it.

Will I think at times that I'm better educated? Sure...I usually am. But, I don't think I'm better. I have many friends that haven't had the education I've had and I love them anyway...again, because of what they do. To me, that's who they are.

If I judged people based on grammar, I would have left here years ago...just saying!

I don't judge people personally. It's more judgement of my peers who are supposed to have the same education level as me. I'm not going to judge a buddy sending me a personal email.

It was a joke...
I failed in my delivery.

But...
There is a lot of value/application for people who are able to say things eloquently, convincingly, with correct grammar, etc, without necessarily needing to actually do what they say. Lawyers and politicians come to mind.
It's immensely valuable to be able to convince others to do things. Managers and any kind of team lead come to mind. They don't necessarily need to do the deed themselves.
Beyond doing... how they say it and saying the right things at the right time is also immensely valuable. Clergy, and sales people come to mind.
Even comedians need to have delivery and timing.

The onus is on you to understand what's being said, and even read in between the lines, to not come across as a bad judge of character.

Personal world? Sure. Professional world? Nope. Thou shalt be judged. So it depends on what world we're talking about.

You're in school... in the working world, you're buddy with the 4.0 GPA will have a VERY hard time getting a job is he can't learn to properly express himself in a mature fashion. I'm involved in all new sales hires at my company and can assure you that anyone who walked in using the work yo (or any variation) would immediately get laughed out of the building... and there is nothing wrong with that as proper English/grammar a mandatory qualification of a worthwhile candidate.

Note: This doesn't mean that they are a good/bad person.. but it immediately leads me to make judgements on their intelligence, maturity, and their social placement. If you think Jay-Z speaks like a thug in business meetings, you're terribly incorrect.
Do you know Jay Z?
