State of the Union predicitions! Place you bets!

The SOTU is on Tuesday and it is already getting interesting. Two seperate Republican responses. One by the new savior Marco Rubio. I already have my predictions on how the night will transpire.

Obama will of course mention positives (jobs, economy, etc.) He will state while there has been improvements there is still much to do. He will speak of the need for both Democrats and Republicans to work together. I don't see him mentioning anything about the drone policy, but will reemphasize the approaching deadline for Afghanistan. I am sure healthcare, gay rights, and gun control will work there way into the speech. Democrats will clap, Republicans will remain silent.

Then the focus will be on the Republican response. They will not agree with Obama on anything except the negatives. Of course I doubt they will entertain the idea of working together. International issues will be ignored. I imagine gun control, gay rights, and healthcare will ignored. The focus will be on Obama's perceived economic failures. McConnell will commit that the Republican's focus this term will be to limit Obama to a two-term president.

No one will question who the true Messiah is--Levin or Rubio.

In other words it will be boring.

You're quite the pessimist aren't you? Are you always this negative about your life?

I'll be interested to see if the Republicans, and how many of them, stand and clap when Obama inevitably turns to immigration reform. I suspect he'll drive this hard to prise apart the divisions in the GOP on this. Then the two GOP responses: Rubio, representing a reformist branch, will surely extol the GOP's new found acceptance of this while Rand Paul's GOP/TP response #2 will probably be silent or wishy washy.

Ah yes! The Republicans new push for immigration reform has been their big issue. I wonder what Obama will say, how the Republicans will react. I am also curious how Rubio and Paul will address that issue in their speeches.

1. Load 2010 SOTU into digital media device.

2. Press play.

3. Sit back and watch 2013 SOTU because nobody will know the difference.

4. Profit.

Jindal didn't work in the past so now they put Rubio in front.

Let's not forget the price of gas under Bush.

People are stvpid if they thought gas prices would decrease under Obama or any president. The BRIC nations are increasing their energy consumption exponentially. This plays a significant role in the price of oil on the market.

Sorry, America ain't the only competitor on today's stage.

I agree. I saw this posted tonight and thought it was comical that Obama was put to blame or any one person for that matter.

that's hilarious, considering gas prices were Bush's fault when he was in office. Funny how things change when your guy is in charge.

It was just a big fat coincidence that a Texas oil man was president when the price of oil skyrocketed and the price of gas increased 400%.
