My Ride: 2003 325xi
First Visit 325xi 2003

My long time mechanic took his first look at my 2003 325xi. I had a valve gasket leak. What had been proposed as needing new lower bushings wound up to be replacement of the lower arm controllers as well. The bill was a bit more than i had expected by $500. Based on the documented service history, my mechanic advises that the car is mechanically rock solid and it does look great. The finicky cup holder does come loose and the plastic cup is slightly discolored. Took a look around for replacements, but can't find a light grey one to match interior. Would really like to install an aux line in for my iphone, but concerned with damaging the trim to access the rear of the radio head. I am really looking forward to taking a long drive in this car. Just hope it does not become a money pit.

Welcome my man! First things firsts you're going to want to learn to DIY! Save yourself massive change, while learning about your car (investment). Are you fairly apt with tools?
Next tip is to research research research! Research parts, prices, what parts are prone to failure. As far as repairs its always good to know what your problem is before you get to the mechanic. When possible get your parts yourself! Internet/ebay first local brick and mortar stores second and the dealer aka "stealer" lastly!
Enjoy your ride responsibly bruh!
