New owner - couple of issues.....
Hello all, hope I can get some advice.....I bought a 2009 320d MSport a couple of months ago and I am having one or two problems....
First of all, I front parked it over a kerb a while ago, and it made a scraping sound. I didn't worry too much about it at the time, but I have just washed it and had a look underneath and the bumper has snapped underneath and bent upwards, so it's bulging out. Instead of it fitting outside the underneath of the car, half of the underneath of the car is squiged over the bumper. I have tried to pull the half of the bumper out, but it's too buckled and bent. I'm not too fussed about the massive gouges underneath the bumper, because there are scratches appearing all over the effing thing since I bought it (it's black, so shows everything up) but I am worried that if I don't do something about it, it will get worse. I am no mechanic, female, and don't know anyone who owns a BMW who might be able to help. I am thinking of taking it back to the dealer and asking them to sort it out, but expect they will seriously rip me off. Any thoughts on where to go in the UK (Midlands) who might be able to sort it without being ripped off? Secondly, I have noticed that when travelling at speed on the dual carriageway/motorway it feels as if it's contactly being hit by cross winds, even when it's not really windy. Feels a bit weird and unstable. Never had this with my old car (not a BMW) and just wondered if it's something that BMWs do? Thanks in anticipation! |
