I wanted to give a shout out to the administrators and peeps on this forum. I recently purchased a 2004 330ci and it is our first BMW. This started as a basic web search for a "good used car" for our son and it led me to a few choices including the E46 based on performance, safety, quality, etc. While searching for the right car I ended up with some threads leading to this forum where I looked up all sorts of stuff on the car, options, repairs, performance stats, etc. This ultimately lead me to making a decision on the E46 and a specific car that we found and are very happy with, so Thank YOU. I have a few minor repairs that I am anxious to get to work on knowing there are good references and people who are willing to share their experiences. We really love this car and actually went through some separation anxiety after giving it to our son...now we are shopping for one for ourselves. Mid-life crissis, maybe. Either that or a later in life realization that there are cars that are way beyond that of which we have been driving to date.

Welcome to the world of bmw,s!!! In my personal opinion u can't go wrong wiv a good old e46,,, as long as its got plenty of history and has been serviced correctly,,,, I have owned 10bmws in my life,,,and could not see myself defecting to anything else in the near future!!! Happy motoring!!!

Sweet! Post some pictures of what you picked up if you get a chance.
And if he posts on here, don't have him mention his age because, for some reason, people don't like when parents buy their kids bmws despite them being good first cars when you buy a cheaper model.

One owner, had an extended warranty up through 2011 with maintenance records. 84K on the odometer, clean car fax. Initial shade tree reapairs will be the rear view mirror, passenger airbag occupancy sensor, valve cover gasket and the oil filter housing gasket. i almost overpaid for the same car at a dealer and then found this one.
