I never said either of those. And neither of those were present in his speech tonight. But socialism was. Take from the wealthy, give to the poor, cheap/free healthcare for the poor, etc.

I worked extra hard in HS and college (my parents paid for part of my undergrad), as well as post-grad (M.Sc.) to make a 6 figure salary; should my money be taken away to support those who haven't worked as hard or as long as I have?

Hard work is defined by how big one's pay check is? Not everyone if affored the luxury of taking the Romney approach--having parents pay for college. There are many people that work in this world. There are too many variables and influences that affect a person's life that assuming everyone in the lower class is there simply because their lack of initiative and hard work is a fallacy.

Oh...its you. Not a Marxist. I just realize that their typically is not many degrees of separation between those that bitch about the needy poor and the less fortunate countrymen they despise.

As I posted in my other thread I came from a not so great background and paid for most of my education. Now I'm doing well for my age. So what makes other people not so capable? Lack of personal responsibility? Lack of determination? Lack of aspiration?

Edit: I realize not everyone can contribute due to old age, disability, etc. However when I see those whining on the bottom of the social ladder yet they walk around with the luxuries of life I have to question are they really hurting or is it poor management of finances?
