Itís not a nice place to be, Subarus have horrid interiors. Youíll feel like a sardine in a can with all the rattles, thin doors, and cheap plastics.

Their manual transmissions are also notorious for problems in 5th gear, and depending on your engine Ė unexplainable headgasket failures.

It's amazing to me that a non M E46 is such a beautiful car but the E46 M has never done much for me.

and the fact that most used WRXs have been modded and abused to hell...the WRX 5 speed transmission is quite delicate too.

-Rattle isn't bad. Vibration and driveline slack on the other hand is quite bad.
-Interior is so-so.
-MT problems are only really an issue on the WRXs. That said, they won't just blow up on you randomly. STi 6-speed is a lot better and the longer FD in the Foresters help maintain the longevity of that 5spd
-HG failures were only in early pre-04 cars IIRC.

They're decent cars, no need to paint them like giant piles of s***.

And N54's have HPFP problems.

My good buddy has an 04 STI and I agree with everything you said. I've ridden and driven it countless times. His 5th grinds everytime at redline going into 6th.

also makes 400awhp.

The HPFP's are warrantied up to 100k miles now, so I wouldn't really be super concerned about it. Couple that with the fact that they exude numerous warning signs prior to shitting the bed, it shouldn't be a worry.

Couldn't of said it better...the sad thing is that the BRZ is going for the same price...This is a no brainer!!!! The BRZ is the biggest disappointment when it comes to tuner cars! The 135i has many possibilities...

I've heard of pissing the bed but never shitting the bed. Is there a story behind this you'd like to share?

No personal stories, that's for sure, lol. I've heard both pissing the bed and shitting the bed but for some reason I hear the latter more often. Regional dialect?

I'll be the odd man out and take a BRZFRSGT86OMGWTFBBQ all day over a 135i. The N54 has not established a good reputation (especially when leaned on), the 1 series is ugly, turbo lag, it's too heavy for its size, etc. The Subaru is a honest, no-frills sports car with a warranty and a rapidly expanding aftermarket. It'd probably cost half if you wanted to seriously track it, and be more reliable to boot.

That 400hp N54 isn't going to have 400hp on a 90 degree day running around on hot tarmac.

Hahaha look another person that thinks they know something about a 135i but has probably never driven one. There is no turbo lag. You feel the turbos at 3k rpm. Lol at you thinking the N54 is a garbage engine you know nothing go home

You will never see a BRZ with 400 WHP!!!! You obviously don't know anything about the N54 platform....with stock turbos (no turbo lag at all) guys are pushing over 400 WHP....FI is the way of the future as you can see with all the newer cars going for it over more cylinders...

If you want a BRZ, go buy a used Lancer Evo....also 400 AWHP with bolt ons and a tune...

Laugh all you want, but if you can't figure out why a BMW is better than a Subaru, then maybe you deserve to have the Subaru...

You'll come to an enlightened understanding when you realize that the bad-good spectrum is not uni-dimensional, but has multiple dimensions, whose individual power on the overall spectrum varies based on person.

There is a new BRZ in my building... looks great on the outside.. until you get close. Everything is plasticy and the interior is just garbage.
