I use Parrot for BT and Connects2 for integration into the steering wheel controls. Works just fine. I believe Parrot now has their own integration kit. Just check parrot.com. There are other options too.

Parrot is high quality stuff, ran it in my old e34 for quite a while w/no issues.

I believe you can also get a BMW BT module and add it to your car...I believe it mounts in the trunk on the left side.

I got the newer model TCU for my car and it works great. Unlike the coupes/sedans which most of the install DIYs are from, the module is not on the left side of the trunk, but to the left of the ski pass in the trunk.

Thanks...did you find a DIY specific to our verts, or did you take any pics while you had things apart?

I did run into this...echoes your comment that the module is the rear of the trunk, rather than on the left side as w/the sedans.

I have had good luck with Parrot as well, although the install was a PITA. There were a few electronic boxes that I needed to squeeze behind the headunit in my old A4.. and instructions were pretty weak.

I have an 04 conv and upgraded to the newer tcu as well. Just removed the old one and replaced with the new one it was a couple of bolts and electrical connectors. You also need the antenna and ant mounting bracket that goes under the center console. The system works great for me

I followed a coupe diy and then just started ripping apart the trunk. The diy you linked is right on, except if you are installing a TCU, then you do not have to worry about the pairing button in step 3.
