Remote Lock/Unlock Issue [2003 M3]

Confusing day..
Drove my car at 10am.
4pm it won't start. All electronics work, it just doesn't turn over.

Fuses checked, good.
Smg relay, fuel door, hood switch and battery all good. Some guy tried to help jump me. Hit on the starter a few times.

Read on Google that someone had the same issue, solved it by putting smg in reverse, and neutral and 1st quickly over and over again while turning the key. Gave that a try and it worked!

Car starts fine now.. However they key won't remote unlock or lock. Gm5 is doubtful.. And it remote unlocked when I got in it at 4pm. Tried reprogramming my key. No luck.

Center Console button locks all doors/trunk/gas cover just fine. Key in the door also locked/unlocks everything just fine.

Tried both keys, that makes me think it's not a battery issue..however I suppose they both could have died at the same time.

I don't know if all our cars do it and I just noticed but when key is out of ignition and lights off the dash dings with the door open. It used to only do that when they keys were In the ignition I believe.

Anyone have any ideas or things to check?

yeah there was a thread with a similar problem. he has the beeping and inability to lock/unlock.
