and also alot people says that the xi will die if it lowered but its not true . the only way it can really go bad is if the front axles or the stock axles from when the car is made dats when it goes bad.so when everyone is being cheap and not changing these axles and they finally break . it makes a bad name to the xi being lowered much like a virus spreading around the e46 and other bmw sites. i brought fk highsports which is going to lower my car low really low but my axles boots are new . there alot of people here running coil overs on xi there just scared to talk lol

Can happen, but the chances of it happening are exaggerated. Just need to regularly check the CV boots for leaks and should be ok.

DIY is the same as any E46. The front driveline components don't interfere with the suspension.

Keep an eye on your boots, this mod could get expensive fast.

Not too bad. I did v1s on my xi. If you watch the boots you should be good. Assuming you DIY of course. Axel boots run ~26 bucks on various sites. If you don't DIY the labor will be rather expensive. I've replaced each front boot two times.
