Hi
I've found an M3 with alright mileage, competitively priced (for the NZ market) and a good service history.

It's also built in November 2000.

There are a few things I'd like your input on.

Firstly, the build sheet says it has a "low compression engine" - what does this mean? A local BMW enthusiast said it's probably a mistake on the build sheet. I'll ask the dealer to confirm whether it is low compression or not when I get pre-purchase check but what is the LC engine?

Secondly, I was looking at the UUC short shifter kits, (http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-1252-uuc-evo3-short-shift-kit-e46-m3.aspx)

And it says that it fits 2001-2006 M3. Will this not fit the 2000 year or is this a mistake?

Any other points of interest on the car?

It has spec which I like:

Carbonschwarz Metallic paint
Cinnamon Nappa leather seats
6 Speed manual
Sunroof
Rear sunblind
CSL splitters
Carbon fog light covers

I'll be updating all the lights to facelift, and giving the car a general freshen up if I get it but I'd appreciate your input!

Note:
I am in New Zealand!

Yes on the ssk, but you can call the vendor if you want to be sure. Since the e46 model ended before the M3 some list parts for 2001-2005 but they fit the 2006 also.

Here in the US we register based on model year not manufacture date. The first models are always released one year early.

Yes to the PY

What do you mean your going to facelift the car?......I hope you mean taillights only.
