Cool Diagnostic scanner

Thinking I need to get a diagnostic scanner for my 2005 325ci, can anybody recommend, from experience, which is the best one to get at a reasonable cost

I'd like to know too, I have an older '99 328i with the round plug in near the Jump start Earth point.

I have recently purchased the C110 bmw/mini scanner, seems very good, only thing is I couldn't get my round under bonnet port to connect to the scanner, however, with yours being a newer model you will have the square port inside the car so would connect no problem.....YouTube has videos of them working, very simple and effective.

David,

Are you sure you dont have a port under the drivers footwell?? I thought i only had the 20 pin port under the hood but an AA mechanic ( dont ask) found the 16 pin connection under the footwell, this was yesterday!! Mines a 2000 328i tiptronic. I thought it was 2001 when they changed the position of the ports, i am obviously mistaken lol
