that is true.. indy shops here in jersey are very expensive.. that's why I am looking only for a mechanic or master tech who wants to make extra buck on the side.. I can do some DIY but sometimes need some mechanic help.. anyway if anyone knows a good mechanic who does it on the side (not a shop) let me know. thx!

let's open this discussion up even further.
There are 2 ships in the dealer thread. Both are great....

It's a double edged sword. It would be great if I would pay parts to them and then they do a small markup. I don't supporting them on the small markup.
In light of that, both normally charge *retail* on parts. I'm not looking to pay OEM prices. Alot of stuff can be purchased much less, but even stuff that you just can't get other than OEM, tishcher, etc are much cheaper than my *trusted indys* on the parts pricing...

So what side you sit in.
Try to support your indy with his parts...
Or buy all you parts from X and X, and let him just bill you on labor...

i personally use my own mboyz mechanic(brooklyn), but besides that, he knows e46 in an out as he own his for close to 8 years, and has dismantled that car over 3 times fully.

cars he has worked on for me. stage 3 hpf e46 m3, stanced e30 and my new e85, range rover supercharge, honda civic si, honda accord and rav 4. hes currenlty also rebuilding a flood car (lexus Rx truck) for me from sandy, cause my cousin didnt have the full coverage and it all most done and up and running.

A good mechanic don't go online on a forum like this seeking random punks for extra "jobs"

Motorcepts has a BMW tech there. If you ask for him you might get him.... Oh wait that's an indy shop.

I really don't think there are any master techs lurking around the forums looking for side jobs...

I would recommend Bulldog Motorsports in Clifton, my M3 will be going back there this year after I was very happy with their work last year. Got my cousin into them, he will only go there now!
