1st job out of college with a Tier 2 automotive supplier gave weak annual bonuses (~3%) and raises were irregular. Next/most recent job with another Tier 2 supplier gave 2% raises annually, but never gave bonuses. That being said, I will never ever complain about receiving any kind of bonus - unless it is lower than what was spelled out in a contract or something.

One of my friends works in-house for GEICO. They have a pretty interesting bonus system where if the company decides to give out bonuses it has to give everyone a bonus of the same % from the mailroom guy to the execs.

Which I find rediculously low for the level of how directly our roles affect the total company performance. Whereas the next level up, our managers, have a 20% bonus payout.

It feels like a very disjointed bonus program.

With a former company, my role was at the 10% bonus level and the managment roles above me were at 20%. Which personally feels much more equitable and more motivating.

How motivated would you really be for only 2%?
I know how you feel, my previous employer gave 1.5% bonus and upper mgmt gets 20%. It sucks, one of many reasons why I left. Current employer gives out 15% bonus. 10% is pretty much what I got my entire life.

this year i think it was roughly 0.65%

I'll take any extra money they're willing to give me.. This is the first job I've ever had that has even thought about giving a bonus.

My company focuses on bigger cash bonuses, medium sized long term incentive compensation and smaller % raises (unless one gets promoted).

My target annual cash bonus is 12% with a potential for a 2.5x payout modifier which essentially makes it up to 30%.

Long term incentive comp, which pays out over 4 years is between 5-10% of salary.

Raises in my 4 years at the company have all been under 3.5% per year.
