Traffic Lawyer

Hey guys im in the NY area and received about 5 moving violations in one traffic stop. I know it is short notice but i have to be in court by the 25th of Feb. Does anyone know if i still have a shot at a lawyer representing me ? What is the average price a traffic layer will charge for an appearance...Any help will be appreciated , thanks.

You know it all depends on what those moving violations are. Why don't you post them up?

And what court you have to go to. If its a local town court they'll plead them down if you just show up. If its TVB court you're screwed.

I dont have the tickets on me as of right now..Im not at my house.. I cut sumone off in front of me to catch a green light and partially ran the red light...I didnt notice there was an unmarkd car behind me . off the top of my head i think i got a ticket for failure to signal, running a red light, failure to yield, failure to yield to a pedistrian even though there wasnt anybody walking in the intersection., and an unsafe lane change

I'd show up with out a lawyer and talk to the Ada and see what kind of a deal he will make you. Then learn a lesson

usually you need to do that at least a week before.. otherwise someone needs to show up for you and ask for a new date due to.........
has to be a decent excuse.

Id show up and deal with it. if you show true remorse, they may take pity on you.

Adjournments usually need to be requested in writing. Don't miss the date or you're license will get suspended for failure to appear.

Get a lawyer and find out if there is any proof. You can easily argue all of those things if you didn't admit to them when the cop pulled you over. I cant imagine the unmarked had a camera but if he did then that is part of discovery which a lawyer would be able to find out at which point you can watch the video and find out where your strengths and weaknesses lie before going in front of the judge.

There is no radar as you weren't speeding. Its your word vs his without proof or admission of guilt. F the police.

And stop driving like an asshole. Just cause Im helping you doesn't mean I condone stupid driving.

Also there is no partially running a red light...you either ran it or you didn't.

Just google garden city, ny traffic lawyers if you want to go that route. If their traffic court is anything like the rest of their local government, they are very strict and you're in for a rough time. Nonetheless, it wasn't drunk or reckless driving. If it were me, I'd go it alone, being extremely humble and apologetic. And wear sports coat, slacks, white shirt with tie, looking the judge right in the eye.
You'll probably meet with an ADA first, though. Good chance to bargain it down. Good luck and stop driving like your needs trump all others.

Don't get an attorney unless you have money you can throw away. The cost could easily exceed the amount of fines you would experience. Then you'd be stuck with traffic fines AND attorney fees. If these are your first tickets ever (or first in a long time, like 5+ years..), I'd talk with the Assistant DA and see what they can do for you. Can't hurt to ask, the worst they will say is "no" and you'll be just as screwed as you feel now (until you find out what the fines are). Face it; you got the tickets and you know why you got them. Like others said, dress sharp, show remorse and ask if they can be reduced. Don't go there pleading poverty or how the officer was wrong in ticketing you etc..; the courts don't have the patience to listen to everyone's whinny-pee-pee-pants story and you'll gain no sympathy.
