Hey
I will be replacing a clutch in my brothers 2000 328ci 5 speed, the trans in the coupe is slightly going out. I do have a low mileage manual trans from my old 323i 5 speed, was thinking if its the same or could work without any problems. It should bolt up without problems but what is the difference ? Anyone know ? RealOEM shows that the model #'s are same just part # and supplement # is different. 323i trans info : Rmfd-5 speed gearbox S5D 250G - TAJT 23001434410 328ci trans info : Rmfd-5 speed gearbox S5D 320Z - THMW 23001434485 Can someone help me out ?

It will work but you would need the shifter, and driveshaft from the 323i as well.

So its unlikely, but they CAN fail, even at 128k and with proper maintenance. To the OP, to my understanding you would need the shifter assembly, and driveshaft to make it work. Should bolt right up to the engine and work from there. Good luck.

Okay I had a similar question. Say I took a 250g from a 03 325i and i wanted to put it into my 01 330ci. realoem says my car uses the 320z. Would this be okay for a 5 speed swap in my car? also another note, the tranny is 22 tooth. what parts would i need, ie which driveshaft, shift kit for what model, etc?
