Need Help, Driver Seat
Hey guys,
So this morning when i got into my car, my driver seat wouldn't move forward or back. Back part of the seat moves fine and it also moves up and down. It just wont go forward or back. I didnt get a chance to properly look at it, and nothing seem to be stuck either. Any comments or suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. ~Tim P.s. im thinking about selling my car, and i dont know what to ask for it. Its a oriental blue 2002 330ci with 121K. All stock, never messed around with any body kits or engine mods. Fully loaded, minus navi and rear sensor. I only added matte grills in the front, smoked all the corner lights and L.E.D smoked tail lights. 20% tints all around and 12" ken wood sub in the truck. Stock wheels are M68, and i also a winter set which are 16" replicas of M-contour with snow tires. I just replaced the whole coolant system/ water pump, both front arm control and bushing, new brake pads and rotors, Oil Filter Housing gasket, valve cover gasket + Oil change, Windshield washer pump. |

I'm going to try not to yell at you, OP, but you don't need to buy a new car if you have one broken motor...or a bad connection.
It's very easy to loosen up the seat, tilt it back and check things out...four bolts in seat base. You might be lucky and find a frayed wire, loose connector, but if not, it's just a motor and shouldn't be that hard to replace...certainly a bit cheaper than getting a new car. See if you're getting voltage to the motor. I doubt it's the seat switch, but suppose that could be involved too. HTH...gl!

Dmax,
I'm not selling my car and getting a new one cause of my broken seat, lol. I've had this car since i finished college in 2005, and now i'm graduating from law school in May. I'd figure its about time i jump into something bigger and better. I got all the work done and still in the process of fixing few other things so i can sell it at a reasonable cost. I want to use that money as a down payment on a 08/09 M3. But thanks for your advice, i will def look into my seat over the weekend. |
