Anyone that would still pay 50k for an e46 is crazy, two went to auction the other day. One was 02 with about 110jns report said it was clean went for 27k, other was a 04 vert had 90k I think, again report was pretty good went for 35k. In my opinion they are only worth low $30s now, for an immaculate one maybe 40 but as a previous poster showed you can get an e90 for 70k plus.
E46 are awesome looking absolutely, but the newer model is awesome as well. My food for thought anyway. |

^ Could probably buy a later model, very low km E46 M3 for $50k'ish. Personally I wouldn't buy from an auction. I know you can score a lot of bargains, but people who put up their cars for auctions are usually cos they have a hard time selling...for whatever reasons may be.

Definitely agree that you do take a risk when using auctions. I have bought probably 10 cars through pickles and have done extremely well. As long as you do your research and don't get emotionally involved with a car before buying it you are normally ok. I Lso know plenty of people that have been caught out with buying cars from dealers as well. You need to be a switched on person to pick up a good car especially ones that are getting close to or even passing 10 years of age.
