New York style pizza, it sucks? It's an Anger Party up in heah'.

Can someone please explain why people love this thin crust pizza, and extreme variants that advertise "ultra" thin crust. It's so limp, it's like holding a napkin in your hand. The cheese oil penetrates the crust and makes it soggy and gross. I can eat an entire pizza without feeling full, and they don't even taste that great.

I went to this New York Style pizza place that was absolutely packed with people. We ordered something that sounded good. $22 later it was like receiving communion.

What is this??

Now THIS is what I'm talkin' about...

Or more realistically, just something in between. Do people actually enjoy thin crust or are they just on no-carb diets?

i prefer NY style pizza. i love a nice thin crust done in a woodfired or brick oven... then again, you cant have ny style pizza in cali... it just doesnt taste the same. same thing with the bagels on the east coast vs. west coast. it must be something in the water.

You've never had real italian pizza, that's real italian pizza essentially. We were poor back in the day, so it was very skimp. I still prefer it.

Provide some evidence as to how it can possibly be better than a deep dish pizza. I'm really curious to know.

ny pizza, chicago pizza......as long as it's good i don't care what kinda crust it is....but to be honest, depends on what kinda mood you are in...some days you may want thin crust, some days thicker crust...

Can't get NY style pizza outside NY, bread products (pizza, bagels, bread) depend a lot on the humidity, altitude, and water, hence crappy NY style pizza outside NY.

True NY pizza is not soggy as stated above, it's crisp.

There's a few places where I live that have phenomenal NY style pizza. This coming from a native east coaster.

Escape From New York Pizza in San Francisco is great. At least it was in the 90's.

New York pizza is to be folded up like a taco and consumed that way - with a trail of grease running down your forearm.

Chicago deep dish is not any better or worse. It's a matter of taste.

I love ALL styles of pizza! NY is good, however, I agree it's not filling and really greasy.

I really enjoy Chicago style deep dish pizza, but it's almost impossible to find an authentic place here in SoCal,
