Its ok, but it is EXTREMELY watery. Will I eat it? Yes. Will I ever order it? No chance. Agreed on the ugly...probably the ugliest fish we eat. It looks similar to a hairy angler. Monkfish liver is also called the poor man's fois gras.

Oh hai guyz

I saw this fish in the local Asian market. I think it was called Parrot fish.
It's scarier in person. Looks like a crazy Joker (from Batman) laughing at you.
Anyone knows if it tastes good?

Parrot fish have extremely hard "beaks" which facilitates them into eating coral (limestone.) Fun fact for the day!

Dont know if you guys have ever seen the BBC series "Blue Planet" but in the Ocean Deep episode....this thing gave me the creeps...a hairy angler.

Monkfish is delicious when cooked right.

Lets all put things into perspective, shall we? Look at how ugly a chicken is, and if you ever smelled a slaughterhouse or a cow ranch, chances are you wouldn't go near a steak ever again. Fish may not be pretty, but their meat is more healthy for you than anything, and they sell like the ocean

Been to a slaughterhouse once still didn't deter me from enjoying a good rib eye

But consider my exposure to fish have yet to include these varieties I am curious.
