Not too familiar with it, but I think it still has the dmaa. According to the threads I browsed, the older version had Theophylline

Oh and I had a few samples of silk amino acids. Never heard of them before, but taken post workout before my regular shake....thought it really helped with recovery.
I workout in the morning and usually sip on my BCAAs during my workout. At the end though, I always have a bit left over so I just chug the rest of it down on the way home. About 30-45 minutes later after I finish getting ready for work, I'll have my postworkout meal.

What do you guys think about off brand Target / Wal-Mart brand protein tubs? Not as a full source but just as any other tub of protein would work? Is it a complete waste of money and might as well spend the extra 30 on name brand stuff? This is Whey protein we're talking about.

the reason why the name brand stuff costs so much is because of the quality of the whey protein isolates... ON for example only sources the best suppliers of the initial ingredient, whereas the walmart brand focuses on getting it from the cheapest supplier.

Don't skimp on protein for sure

Where did you get this info?

I'd say the walmart stuff is fine. The only thing I'd worry about is taste

Don't skimp on protein for sure
And also because of where the products are made.

I used to be really into jack3d but I dont think it has DMAA in it anymore since the FDA banned it because of "insufficient safety evidence"........I liked the stuff a lot it was a good stimulant

But walmart/target stuff isn't that cheap compared to something from bodybuilding.com. All about the same price in the end. Not the best, but in a jam, I'll buy a 2lb jug to get me by.

Look up Consumer Reports' piece on the heavy metal content of protein powders. I'll gladly pay a few bucks extra for Optimum, given that I know the people who make it and have been to their plant. I prefer to avoid garbage made in the backwoods of China.

I've been using ON for years, but if a 2 lb tub of protein at walmart is like $18, it's really about the same price. It's really just convenience if I run out.

Old study, but interesting results. Six star which is a walmart/target brand I wouldn't touch actually had no measurable amounts of metals.

Working out with a friend the other day, mixed in postbcaa and methyl pump pre workout. Resulted in good energy and a amazing workout.

I've taken amino energy & jack 3d in the past, this pre work out drink outdoes them both. You don't really get a jittering feeling either like most pre work out drinks

^I mix the same with creatine. Only use a little pre-workout though....the sample packets from bodybuilding.com. One sample/2-3 servings lasts me awhile, but notice a difference when I add a little.

SixStar is MuscleTech.

My comments were made with EAS in mind, which is sold at Target.
