I'll take that bet.

Used to lurk on the weaponeer forums for a long time. People build and sell all the time. If its a 16 inch barrel with a stock its a rifle and not NFA.

Edit: Tailo, you caused me to start re-digging on this. If you have any link or info from your end, please share. I'm fully aware of NFA items, but open question is if
a privately made gun (non-NFA) needs to be registered as an NFA device. I'm reading letters and confirmations from the BATFE, but they are just that, opinions not law

Their are machined that use lasers and titanium powder to make basically anything. It takes some cleaning up but is very strong and you could totally print a gun. The machines are very expensive. The $1-5k printers are printing plastic with low resolution.

People often get the F1 confused with having something to do with a "home build" Do a bit of googling and you will find lots but it basically boils down to if it does not fall under any of the NFA regulations then you dont need to F1 the item. If you want to make it a SBR THEN you have to F1 it and make it a NFA item.

As far as selling the item. As long as your not building them to sell then your fine, but if you change your mind down the road you can legally sell it. The ATF just dont want you to buy a CNC machine and crank out lowers in your garage but they have no problem if you build a couple for yourself and at a later date sell them, they dont expect you to demill them or keep them forever.
