**BimmerFest 2013 San Diego County Caravan Thread**

Hey everyone...
( please sticky mods :thumsup: )

I thought I would go ahead and start up a thread for this, since we are only 2 and a half months away.. time to start getting ready. I wouldn't mind organizing this too..Im in the military and have some experience with this kind of thing, regarding logistics and communications.

I think it went well last year.. we had over 100 cars from south county and a large group from north county join us.. was a great event and caravan. We got a little bit of a late start, and I would like to ensure we get good parking spots and get up there on time for the start of the day so here is the plan.

What is it?: The 14th annual Bimmerfest event is back at the Rose Bowl on the same weekend as always with the enormous grass lot H. Last year was a record year and 2013 is going to be even bigger.

When: Saturday, May 18th, 2013 , Caravan to leave parking lot @5:30am so get there on time please.. remember 15 min early is one time, on time is late :lol: We will meet up with the north county folks along the way on the 5.

Where: South County Caravan will meet up here...

Meet in the Sears Parking lot by Crate and Barrel, Come fully gassed up and ready to go please.

North County Caravan will meet up here...
There will be a point of contact for the north county group to be added later.. we will call the north county group 10 minutes out to allow start and travel time to the 5 from the parking lot. And we will all drive up together in one big group of awesomeness!

At about 6:15am, we'll start heading up the 5 to merge with the UTC group, and will become one big group of beautiful BMWs. This is our goal. However, you never know what can happen. and caravan as a group to here

Entry Fee: $20 per BMW to park in the show OR $15 per person to walk in -- kids 12 and under are free (Up to you which you choose... I will be paying to park inside)

Details/Communications Plan:
During the Caravan primary Comms will be on handheld 2 way multi-channel radios like this:

Primary Channel: 7 Sub-channel 11 (why because 7-11 :lol:
Backup Channel: 6 Sub-channel 9 :thumsup:

Also I may be contacted via cellphone 760-670-8903 txt is preferable!

Things you may want to do Friday:

- Wash your car
- Install front plate (a lot of people tend to get tickets for this)
- Gas up
- Check tires
- Pack walkie talkies, phone charger, microfiber cloths, bottled water, snacks, etc.

Anyway look forward to seeing everyone for a great drive and great day.
Let's take our time guys. Do not race each other. Make sure to obey all traffic laws. I know it's hard since our cars are designed to go fast and kick ass but, let's make this a safe and fun trip for everyone.

Kudos to you bro! I know several folks had been Jockeying to grabs this by the jewels first, looks like you've got the gig. My name's Will, i'll meet up with you guys at UTC. Nasty looking silver 330i with a bunch of black shapes plastidipped on. (don't judge too hard, My paint is trashed.) just got a No holes front plate for this. I just need to complete a drive cycle and Smog the old' girl. fingers crossed, but I'll be there, coming from La Mesa.
2-way Radio, Tires, detail & Gas the whole drill. I am so looking forward to this.

I'm from Fallbrook (North County) I'm a first timer on this and I'm definitely in!!! So what time should I be in Carlsbad?? You only specified time for people from South County.

My guess is they are meeting at 6:00 and departing at 6:30. It only takes us about 20 to 25 min to get to Carlsbad.

Bump... whos excited.... only 3 weeks away.. wrapping the car and doing a few minor upgrades the week before.. **** is gonna be awesome.. cant wait to meet everyone! Dont forget to join the facebook event too....

Ya total bummer but hey I'm still stoked to head out with you guys so NO HATING ON THE MERC haha I'm still bummed about my Bimmer! Bone stock ouch.
