2013 EMRA Tentative Event Schedule.....

The snow is melting and the sun is coming out more and more in the northeast and that means 2 things.... my baby is coming out from under the cover ready to play and a new race season is fast approaching.

In case anyone, like me, needs to know dates for races a long ways out I thought I'd share what I have come across.

EMRA is one of the best racing organizations out there and they put on great events for Race, Enduro, and Time Trials. They havent finalized their 2013 schedule as of yet but I have located a tentative one that will at least help give everyone very close idea of when and where the events are taking place. For the finalized schedule once it is released, it can be found on their website http://www.emraracing.org/ its is also give you all the information you will need for car classing, rules, event type, and everything else you'd need.

Lets support this great organization and come out....plus then my car will have other BMW friends to play with on the track

there are typically instructors if you need/want them. in order to get a license to run you will need to get signed off by an instructor as well. as far as the racing is concerned...http://emraracing.org/Race/Racing.aspx explains it. Time trials are more tack day type sessions with a few differences. all time trial participants run at the same time typically in order of your classing and/or fast lap times. in a normal "track day" you must wait for a point by to pass, thats not exactly the case. although point bys are recommended and encouraged if you can safely make a pass in a straight you do not need one. any dangerous or passing in courners will result in being black flagged. hope that answers your question

Funny you posted this, I'm actually thinking about starting TT this year and found EMRA was the easiest way to begin doing it. Too bad they don't have any events at T-bolt but I'll try to make the LRP in June

TT's are a lot of fun youll have a blast. EMRA makes them great too making them feel like a race without the full on risk of wheel to wheel racing. if youve never been to LRP its a really fun little track. forces you to be really spot on with your lines. T-bolt would be fun but I've never driven Lightning so I'm excited about that. I'm more disappointed with the fact they arent going to The Glen this year. hands down the best road course in the northeast!
