The Delicious Sandwich Thread

My recent favorite, inspired by the Cobb Sandwich from Kerby Lane:

Smoked turkey or oven roasted pepper turkey
Thick cuts of smoked bacon
Mozzarella or provolone cheese
Lettuce
Sliced avocado
A little light mayo to moisten it up. Sometimes I use guacamole instead of the sliced avocado in place of the mayo.
A tiny bit of Garlic or garlic powder.
Best served on grilled sourdough bread

Sorry, no pic right now.

What is this Magnolia Cafe you speak of? I haven't lived in the area very long.

Magnolia Cafe is a 24hr diner similar to Kerby Lane. I believe there are a couple/few locations in austin, but the one i used to frequent is on 1920 S. Congress.

the fish tacos are the bee's knees!

there are a TON of great places to eat in austin. i make it a rule to never eat a chain restaurant when i'm there. too many awesome mom and pop shops

Try this Peanut Butter and Chile for a great, filling breakfast:

Two slices Trader Joe Honey Wheat
Plain peanut butter
Pepper flakes (like for a pizza)
Steel cut oats (raw)
Ground cinnamon
Brown sugar

Be liberal with the peanut butter and cinnamon. You will be amazed how energizing this is, especially compared to the lethargy that follows a donut.
