Which Angel Eyes?

Im looking to get some angel eyes and I'm curious what people would recommend. Orion v2.5 or v4?

Orion V4 is ungodly bright and the best kit out there, hands down. I have had my problems with the company, but there is always one thing I will buy from there and only one, the Orion V4's. Whenever mine fail (and they are holding up like you wouldn't believe) I will go back and buy more.

The v4s aren't too bright are they? Like do they look weird and out of place in person?

Nope they look bright like the new OEM ones but have a more consistent, wider viewing angle than the OEM ones. You can see illumination from just about beside the car and until the rings actually go out of eye-sight.

old thread i know, but did you go opaque or not with the v4's? Also, do they come with an automatic built in night controller that dims them down when the lights come on?

I don't understand the opaque option with these - needed or not? what is the benefit/drawback to going opaque versus not?

I went with the regular V4 and they have been amazing. Opaque is not necessary with these cause they're so bright. What opaque does is frost the plastic a bit to make it seem like a continuous loop but the V4 is so bright that's not necessary. Yes it comes with the night controller but I never installed it it seemed like a pain in the ass for no real reason

roger that, thanks man!

so if installed, does the night controller dim them automatically or do you need to physically do something with a switch?

So I received the V4's the other day, waiting to install them. Instructions provided are the same as the one linked by SolidJake. There is no mention in those instructions about running any wire into the cabin to connect to the footwell light power supply.

Does anyone have a better DIY for the newer V4's? Is there a need to tap into the footwell light power, or is everything under the hood like the instructions for the V2's state?

Step 5 in the fastm instructions does mention the trigger wire. You just need to route that wire through the fire wall into the cabin and tap into the footwell light. If you do install it then you will have the on/off

Ok, I'll piggyback onto an old thread.
I'm getting over the whole stock look (see sig) thing. I had 4300K V2s on my '04 coupe and I didn't like them because they looked like a freaking christmas tree lights (giant gaps).
Is there anything better on the market than the V4? It looks like the gaps are nearly invisible now. I would prefer something warmer than 6000K but I'll live with it if I have to.
Is reliability good?
