There is a place reserved in Hell for the person who did this!

Today, I am jacking up my car and I notice that on the driver's side rear of the car, the jack pad is missing. Considering how securely fastened the other ones are, I don't think that it just fell off. I'm thinking that it has been stolen. This is such a petty crime I can't believe anyone, much less a BMW owner, would do it. It's most likely a BMW owner because who else needs it? Once I'm done fuming I will just check RealOEM and buy a new one. I'm sure it's not expensive but I'm still in disbelief that someone would steal it. And it's not the only thing they swiped, my little plastic rivets for the drivers side front wheel liner are gone to and I've seen them before. I don't find it likely that all 3 would magically disappear at once! It's a good thing I had the alarm installed, otherwise they probably would have stolen my wheels too. Be careful out there, its seems nothing is safe anymore.

That sucks. I want to replace all of mine (they're kind of chewed up) but they're pretty pricey. they'll have to be replaced almost last. do you need help finding the part?

They actually do just fall off sometimes, especially from speed bumps and things they hit.

They're about 12 bucks.

they really aren't fastened that securely, just a plastic push-in plug.

I'm assuming you meant a picture of the missing rivets:

Thanks but Zell posted the link from ECS. I may replace all 4 as well. $50 total seems like a bit much though. I'll probably search the part number though for cheaper ones.

Thanks this makes me feel better but I'm still suspicious because of the rivets.

Mine fell off a while ago and I replaced it. I believe it just happens. But if someone did steal it they are quite the douche.

Somebody stole my bmw hood logo the other day, these things happen.
Clearly there is a struggling e46 owner around your vicinity.

My car was missing one when I purchased it. I'm more inclined to believe they fall off or get hit my something during the life of the car rather than being stolen.

But you never know...

A lot of people keep the jack pads in their trunk and install them as needed. That way they'll never get stolen

If you're gonna replace all 4, get the ECS Jack Pad adapter. They do have a deal that contains all 4 jack pads + the jack pad adapter for about $65. It makes lifting loads easier.

Wow that is about as low as you can go. That's a symbolic crime to steal the logo.

That sounds like a much better idea for me, both hiding the pads and getting the adapter.

Yeah I'm missing at least one if not more. I think yours probably fell off. But your assumption that people generally suck isn't that far off either way

That's nothing you can't replace by selling a few more marshmallow shooters

I need an idea like that!

Haha thanks that is true. And they didnt just pay for the car actually, they got me into a great college, who is paying for most if not all of my tuition, etc. since I don't need my college fund anymore, I'm trying to convince my parents to give me some of it!

Also, if you start a business or make a product, try to make something with residuals. I now make more money talking about selling marshmallow shooters than I do actually selling them. Or I could just sell you my company!

He's a bit far north from me but in an effort to keep his car OEM he probably did go to the trouble of driving 2 hours to me, finding my car (which he likes), and stealing my jack pad and rivets!
