Non-OEM window regulator

Anyone here using a non-OEM window regulator(s)?

I need to replace my front driver side and was thinking of getting this from Amazon.

Only reason I'm considering buying it from there is, I still have my $30 Amazon gift card from x-mas.

I have had mixed results from non OEM regulators. For the most part in the future I will try to stay away from ebay "most likely made in China" parts (one I put in a Honda lasted less than a year). Bavarian Autosports does sell the OE as well as ones made by "JL Germany" which I just ordered one of today. Of course it may be a couple of years before I know if I made the right choice yet, but at least it is not made in China.... I think....

The one you have the link to is most likely a made in China part judging by the price and the fact that it has a motor also.

Sounds promising... what is your source for Uro Parts?

go to www.bavauto.com and search for Part # : 51 33 8 218 383 which is the "Clip - Window Regulator to Glass"

Cheap but invaluable if you need them.

Also, Part # : 52457 is the regulator I just bought... front left for me not sure which you needed.

I would have given you links but the bavauto site doesn't copy links for some reason... masks them...

I would go with Mango's suggestion though as he has real experience with the Uro Parts brand, the JL Germany parts remain to be seen at this point unless someone else speaks up.

Mango - I was unsuccessful finding the regulator on the BMA site, can you post a link?

My Left side (UK so Nearside) Window is struggling somewhat so going to find these clips and strip the door on the weekend. I assume the door card is mostly small screws/clips and maybe a Torx bit etc?

I replaced my drivers side with a URO from BMA just like mango, in fact I've replaced 3 with the URO regulator. My only complaint is one winter night I went to roll my drivers window up and just like before a loud pop. It broke the same as the OE one, kind of frustrating as I replaced it only a couple of months prior. I blame it on the fact that it was 0 degrees out and there just a horrible design. That being said, I'll be ordering another URO from BMA to replace when the weather warms up a little. For the price I'm still ahead over a OE one
