I really liked my evo 3d, the speakers were really meh though, at least compared to other smartphones I've used.

It's pretty easy to notice the glaring issues with the S3's screen. It's also pretty easy for most S3 owners to ignore them.

The Lumia 920 is $450

The Nexus 4 is $299.

Not every flagship phone is that pricey, unless you were only referring to Samsung.

I know. The iPhone is also very expensive. I worded that statement in a confusing manner.

I meant that some manufacturers besides Samsung don't charge so much, not that Samsung is the only one who charges so much.

How is the HTC in the rooting aspect? I heard that once you brick it, it is impossible to bring it back to life whilst on the samsung phones its almost impossible to brick your phone. Maybe I should just get the GS3 instead?

Nexus 4 is not even compared to the other phones and doesn't have LTE(unless you live in canada).

Nokia Lumia 920 is $650 unlocked and without contract.

HTC one - $650
iPhone 5 - $650
Sony Xperia Z - $780

Friend's Galaxy S3 got bricked after 4 months of being used and rooted with a different rom.


If you want to root, get dev edition unlocked bootloader.

I usually get a 2yr contract when buying phones, and thats why I want to be sure that I will be happy with my purchase. I really want the HTC, but the extra risks you're taking for the root may be the whole difference.

i guess the choice between my next phone is leaning towards the s4... the htc one def has the better design and screen while the s4 has the better software and battery life. to me software and battery are more important.

Battery life is a big reason why I would lean toward the S4

We'll see how the S4 is. The S3 is not nearly as impressive as Samsung claimed it to be with regards to battery life.

The One X's display is, without a hint of hyperbole, the best I've ever seen on a phone. Full stop. Seriously, I'm struggling to find fault with it in any way: it's got a near-perfect 180 degree viewing angle and perhaps the most accurate color reproduction and color temperature available. At 720p, it falls well into "retina" territory where the individual pixels become invisible to the naked eye.

Alright fair enough
