Call me a hater, but I'm having a hard time feeling anything other than "meh" about this. Same with the S3, never really liked it all that much compared to the competition. I think it's mainly due to touchjizz I mean touchwiz.

It keeps them 6 months behind the latest Android release, and all for what? A few gimmicky features (S-voice), a few renamed features (S-beam), and a worse looking UI. This eye scrolling thing seems like something that I'd try one time and immediately turn off. The retro-style physical home button and backwards back and menu button don't help things either. After using the software buttons with a clean front face on the Gnex/Nexus 4 I'd hate to have to go back to physical or even capacitive buttons. On top of all that, rumor has it the phone will be plastic again rather than aluminum (iPhone, HTC One), polycarbonate (HTC One X), or kevlar (RAZRs).

About a month after release, Google will announce the next Android version (and hopefully a phone or two which may even edge past the S4), and thus will begin 6 months of the new S4 being out of date on 4.2, which the S3 still doesn't even have. Maybe CM11 will see a timely release for the S4.

I'll definitely pass. I guess the hardcore geekiness of the Nexus line is more appealing to me.

I left Verizon years ago because of their poor selection of phones. Nothing has changed. Go GSM if you want better phones. Or complain to Verizon.

The Nexus 4 not being on Verizon is 100% their fault. Who do you think is meddling?

I hope Samsung moves to some of the more advanced composite materials that feel more like metal. I know it won't happen this time- but maybe with the GS5 etc.

It is a joke in stock form, being embarrassingly behind on updates. I've got mine rooted on CM10.1 and leankernel though and it's no slouch. Best of both worlds: instant updates and LTE.

I wouldn't mind the huge size if you could find a pair of pants with big pockets. Unfortunately these hipster skinny jeans have slimmed down most regular jeans and the pockets are small and hard to get your hand in. Bring back a little more relaxed pant style, up the pocket size / access and the phone size wouldn't be a problem.

Do you really wear skinny jeans?

The current Nexus is not available from Verizon or on their network. Google had issues with Verizon allowing them to push updates on the previous Nexus so choose to not offer it though them.
