Wouldnt do it on my car, but I love that you had fun, experimented, and just did it.
BTW, you are very talented.

I'm one of the guys expecting to check the pics and roll my eyes. It turns out I'm pretty impressed instead. Not for my car, but it looks pretty good. The trim looks like silver on black, but the lower wheel trim looks like black on silver, kind of like a negative. Did you do that part differently?

Since your dad's the professional artist, what'd he think of it?

Nice job.

Thank you! Yeah I thought it would be cool to do the steering wheel trim "negative" to contrast the dash trim. I sprayed it metallic silver then used a fine tip black sharpie instead of a thick silver one.

Sharpie and CF are both better than the gross wood grain.

I think I'm going to take some inspiration from you and do my car seat like that.

I'm thinking of going with a Caribbean Island scene...maybe just a slice of life vignette from one of our Baltic States...something involving a goat, maybe farm gal...sort of thing. That'd probably look like crap, wouldn't it?

You've got talent, OP...hope you stick with art.

I was serious about the exterior trim, that would look sick with the silver/black combo!

i actually did something very similar with my wooden trim in my first car 323...got bored, painted it black, then brought out the silver sharpie, and clear coated it. i found that the clear coat made it look tons better, but then again i used a slightly matte black paint so maybe that's why. some people liked it, others thought it was too much.

i had a bit less going on on mine but i like these. here's a pic before i finished the last long piece:

I was thinking about doing something like this to my car but I probably wouldn't like the outcome and be upset that I did it.

i did mine directly on the wood trim because i thought if i didnt like it i could just use magic eraser or something to take the sharpie off.. now im realizing it would look 1,000,000 times better if i painted it black first then did silver sharpie.. so i may end up sanding all the clear coat off, spraying it black, then sharpieing all over again.
