Can someone confirm my understanding of HID foglights

Ok...yes I have done some searching, but am still kind of confused.

My understanding is that the stock OEM HID headlights are 4500K.

If I just use one of those upgrade HID conversions on the foglights...will it cause glare to other drivers? I have read that that housing wouldn't properly focus the light to where it needed to go. Is this correct?

Finally, if I get something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/140736301115...84.m1423.l2649 where its built in? Would that "fix" any unwanted spread of from the bulb?

My goal is to put out more light, but not blind anybody. Also if I can get the lights to all match that would be cool.

Yes, it will create a ton of glare. ANY hid kit in a halogen housing will do that and also give you worse light output due to the beam pattern.

The ebay link you posted is the same crap, same exact fog light that your m3 comes with but it is of an insanely cheaper material that will have it lense burn up even with a regular halogen bulb (as me how I know, TWICE).

If you really want hids in your fog lights you will need a good quality ballast (not a cheap one from the ebay link which will probably cause a million problems), a wire harness and PROJECTOR fog lights.

Thanks Solidjake! I think I will pass on that mod then. Seems to defeat the purpose of the fogs.

[EDIT]

Before I totally give up on this mod...is there any fog with link that you can recommend that will not blind people and project more light?

Aftermarket projector fog lights suck. Only thing I recommend is this

I have HID in my regular fog light housing and they work great. I want the light to spread out as much as possible and it does so without blinding incoming cars. I'll post some pics of them and where they cutout at.
