Replaced hydraulic fluid

I scanned old threads and found info about checking fluid level or topping off fluid but I didn't see anything on draining and replacing the fluid. Sorry if I missed it. Anyway, my top has been getting sluggish especially in hot weather when the car has been sitting in the sun. Especially at about the half way point when retracting it would need a little push to keep moving back. I decided to pull the trunk apart to check things out and there are no signs of any hydraulic leaks and the pump was full on fluid. I decided it couldn't hurt to see if fresh fluid would help. I just used a shallow drain pan and got as much fluid out of the pump reservoir as possible by tipping it on its side to drain. I then refilled it with Pentosin fluid. I'm happy to say the top is working great now! I've cycled it up/down about 10 times in the last few days and the open/close speed is back to normal and the hesitation at the mid point is gone. If anyone else is having the same problem, it's definitely worth trying new fluid before condemning the whole pump assembly to being rebuilt/replaced.
