My Ride: 2002 330Ci Conv.Auto
Mice in front vents

I turned on the fan for my 2002 330Ci and bird seed came out of the right front vent! Mouse poop was also found underneath the passenger seat and in the top of the shock mounts under the hood.

Now the heater won't work, and I assume there's a nest blocking the door or it's gummed up or a vacuum line has been chewed through.

As a side note, I put 1/4" chicken wire at the entrance to my motorcycle's airbox and that stopped them from building nests, so I am willing to do this, just not sure where.

1. How is it best to start dismantling the front dash to find out the source?

2. So how else can I prevent mice from going up into the vents?
