Thump in my trunk
When I put my 323 in gear or when acceletating from a dead stop, I hear a thump from the rear. Is this something that should worry me?

Maybe. Check your subframe bushings, diff bushings, and subframe mounting points. That model year is known for tearing the subframe mounting out. Worse case is that you have to weld on a repair kit (~$800-$1500 depending on who welds it). Best case, it's just a worn out bushing or shock mount.
