Is there any other place in the US that can cut a key other than BMW?

The new key will also have to be coded to the car. It may turn the lock cylender, but it will not start till this is done. I ordered mine from Richmond BMW for $170 and they coded it for free.

Yeah, I have a transponder/remote key, I just wanted to get some spare non remote keys made.
what I really want to do is get some blanks off of eBay, then have them cut.

And they won't work to start the car.

I realize the car needs the transponder, but a question comes to mind. When a BMW (E46) was purchased new, the dealer gave out two remote transponder keys, two non remote keys and a plastic wallet key. does the wallet key have a transponder in it as well?

My key broke in half so I ordered a new one on eBay for $10 and they used a drill type thing I think. I plopped my transponder in and started my car! No problems!

Ive seen plenty of posts and youtubes on setting up a new remote key for the car, is there a way to set up a non remote key? I suppose the answer to that question is GOOGLE it.

If you're referring to setting up remote lock/unlock then that's something completely separate of the EWS system, which is what's going to prevent you from actually starting the car.
Terra will probably be the best forum member to ask about it.
