Steering Rack or Tie Rod End Boots
I'm looking for the older version (Cone Shaped) of the Steering Rack Boots....Not the ones that have large opening at both ends with the doughnut rubber fitting on the outter tie rod end.
If someone knows the part number or where I can purchase the older version of these rubber boots/dust covers I would greatly appreciate the info. |

...why? The new version is just as good, and can be installed without needing an alignment.

Seems when with these their either full of air or are overly compressed and flat and wont stay in the indented area of the tie rod end...

I installed the new ones with the collars etc and never had such issue of not staying in place. Maybe not tight enough?

I had them tight and when I turned wheels all the way left or right the boot would seem to be over filled with air or looked deflated and flat...instead of like an accordian like it did with the original boots. I ordered new clamps; see what happens...thx

I think you have the wrong part #, or you installed them incorrectly (too stretched out). I was looking yesterday, I have these and no issues.
